  • Research and write multiple news stories to meet deadlines for the daily newspaper and website; provide accompanying photography and video as needed
  • Provide coverage of education issues, including coverage of three school divisions and local post-secondary education issues
  • Write a weekly opinion column
  • Created and write a biweekly science news column
  • Created a weekly music playlist column/blog which has community members share their favourite music
  • Write feature stories for the News' magazine publications, including Sun City, Top 40 Under 40, and Annual Report on SE Alberta, and Inroads West

  • Write accurately under deadline and layout pages for a weekly broadsheet newspaper, a tabloid paper published four times a week and special editions throughout the year
